Aðalstöðin taxi
The Aðalstöðin taxi service was founded by a group of Keflavík taxi drivers on 20 November 1948. From the outset the company strove to provide an excellent service to the local community. For a time the company operated a shop, fuel station, lubrication service and car wash, as well as a travel agency and a branch at Keflavík Airport; at its height, Aðalstöðin operated a fleet of about 50 vehicles. In past times the company would invite the community’s senior citizens on a day’s sightseeing tour in south Iceland, to Þrastarskógur or Þingvellir, where the old people were served refreshments.
